FACTS— This year we will be using “FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment” to help us award scholarship monies to school families. Applications may be completed online through the secured portal at: https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/3XKP4. There is a $35 application processing fee that is due when the application is submitted. The online application is the only way that we will be evaluating scholarship applications.

The form must be completed and submitted to FACTS by March 15, 2025 We encourage all families whose children are in T-K through 8th grade to apply for tuition assistance. We also use this information to notify you when outside scholarship opportunities become available.

Assistance and Scholarship Options:

Ohio EdChoice The Educational Choice Scholarship (EdChoice) was created to provide students from under-performing public schools the opportunity to attend participating private schools. The program provides up to 60,000 EdChoice scholarships to eligible students. The maximum financial amount for each one is $6,165. Families applying for EdChoice traditional that are non catholic must pay the difference between the non-parishioner rate and the EdChoice grant of $6,165.  For the 2024-25 School year the difference is $585 plus the $100 family fee.  All paid in full or monthly through FACTS.

Students currently attending a public school in their resident district that has been rated in Academic Emergency or Academic Watch for two of the past three years are eligible to apply. Public school students attending a school in their resident district that will be assigned to such a school in the upcoming school year are also eligible to apply. Students currently attending a charter/community school whose home school is an eligible school on our list are also eligible to apply.

The online applications are submitted by the participating private schools between February 1, 2023, through April 30, 2023 on behalf of the parent, ONLY AFTER the student has been accepted for enrollment by the school. INCOME VERIFICATION must be filled out online through the state of Ohio.

EdChoice Scholarship Expansion

EdChoice can be Traditional for the city of Dayton Residence or Expansion for all families based on Income, which is EdChoice Expansion. You must be registered at St. Charles School and have received a tour prior to submission of Scholarship. Request form, proof of address and birth certificate are required to be returned to the school office to Nancy Cochran.  Once submitted first time users must register online through the Income Verification portal.

Pay It Forward Scholarship-  Based on enrollment and need, The Pay it Forward Tuition Grant provides one-year tuition grant to two (2) 6th grade students, two (2) 7th grade students and two (2)  8th grade students enrolling for the 2024-25 school year. Application is due March 1, 2025. The primary goal is to provide short-term financial assistance to families that are committed to providing quality Catholic education to their children. Pay It Forward Scholarship Application 2023.

The Charger Commitment Tuition Grant- provides a tuition grant for continued Catholic educational opportunities for one incoming 7th or one incoming 8th grade student that currently attends Saint Charles and have registered for the 2024-25 school year. The maximum allowable grant will be equivalent to the tuition rate of one parishioner student. The primary goal is to provide short-term financial assistance to families that are committed to providing quality Catholic education to their children. Charger Commitment Grant 2023. Application due March 1, 2025. 

Education Foundation Tuition Aid Grants- The Catholic Education Foundation for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for 2023-2024 elementary school (K-8) tuition assistance grants. All grants are needs-based and can be used at any Catholic elementary school within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Typically, awards have ranged from $250 to $1,200 per qualified student. How to apply: Parents apply through the school FACTS Tuition Management Account. Deadline: March 31, 2024.

The Catholic Education Foundation tuition aid program became a reality in 2017-2018 through the One Faith, One Hope, One Love Capital Campaign. Due to the generosity of your parish, the Catholic Education Foundation will again be able to offer over $2,000,000 in financial aid!   www.catholicbestchoice.org The CEF closes on February 3, 2025.

Jim Paxson Scholarship- This scholarship was created to honor Jim Paxson, an original member of St. Charles Church.  A full in parish rate scholarship is given to a current 7th grader going into their final year at St. Charles School.  Applications for the 2023 school year will be available in April 2023.  Past winners of the Paxson Scholarship: 2015- Katie White, 2016- Reagan Schrimpf, 2017- Jacob Rider and Paxson Francis, 2018- Ryan Gieger and 2019- Maggie Shope and Colin Wehner, 2020- Reese Hornick and Mia Crinion.  2021- Luca Malenich.  2022- Henry Kaufman. 2023- Colin Mueller 2024- Mason Gray.

David Bradley Wick Scholarship In carrying out the Foundation’s purpose, DBW is presenting an educational scholarship to an eighth grade student enrolled in a school associated with an Archdiocesan or Interparochial high school and who will be enrolling into a high school associated with these schools the following year. The selected candidate will receive a scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 per year for four years.
