Curriculum – St. Charles School offers a core curriculum of religion, reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies along with classes in physical education, music, and art. Christian values are integrated throughout the curriculum and students participate often in Mass and devotional activities. Spanish is taught to students in grades K-8. Students from St. Charles School go on to Catholic and public high schools very well prepared.

Faculty & Staff – All classroom teachers are state-licensed and certified in religious education by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

Sacraments – Second Grade students have the opportunity to receive First Communion and First Reconciliation. Eighth-grade students have the opportunity to receive Confirmation. The Faith Formation Office can be contacted at (937) 434-9272 for additional information.
Special Needs – The school has a Speech Therapist and an Intervention Specialist on staff. Attempts are made to accommodate the needs of physically or learning-disabled students. The facility is accessible. Currently, St. Charles serves students with hearing impairments, specific learning disabilities, speech & language needs, and other health impairments for a total of 13 students being served or 4% of the school population. St. Charles maintains a Title I Reading program for students in grades K through 2.
Behavior – Students are taught life skills for school and home that are based on respect, responsibility and reverence.
After-School Program – Various daycare buses pick up at St. Charles school at 2:50 dismissal.
Extracurricular Activities – Students may participate in several school and parish-sponsored extracurricular activities including Instrumental Band (5-8), Choir (4-8), Power of the Pen (7-8), Boy & Girl Scouts (K-8), Wellness Advisory Council (5-8) and CYO Sports (soccer, say soccer, intramural basketball, basketball, golf, volleyball, girls on the run, track & field and football) at most grade levels.

High School Preparation – 80% of St. Charles School 8th Grade students further their education at Catholic high schools.Lunch – The school participates in the Federal Lunch & Breakfast Program. Nutritious meals are reasonably priced. A grab-and-go breakfast is served in the morning. Reduced prices and free meals are available for qualifying families.
Facilities & Technology – The St. Charles school building is sound with recent renovations to classrooms, gym, library, and computer room. One computer room and two wireless Chromebook learning carts, LearnPads a 1:1 Chromebook initiative in grades 6-7-8, and a wireless infrastructure are available for student and faculty use. Updated interactive whiteboards are located in all classrooms. There is a 1:2 ratio of computer workstations to students.
Transportation – Bus transportation is provided in most cases to residents of the Kettering, Centerville, and Sugarcreek school districts. Parents may transport their children by car, and some children opt to safely ride bikes or walk to school.
Parents – St. Charles has a very active Parent-Teacher Organization, the St. Charles PTO, which is very supportive of the school. Parents have many opportunities to volunteer.
Tuition – St. Charles School has comparatively reasonable tuition rates with a variety of payment schedules. Tuition accounts for 59% of the school income, 6% of funding comes from Ohio School Foundation Payment System, while the parish continues to support the remainder of school costs. Tuition assistance is available for St. Charles parish students.
