Power of the Pen Sweeping the Competition!

After waiting a long two weeks, the Power of the Pen writers and coaches joined in on a virtual watch party to hear the results of the District Meet that took place on January 30. St. Charles swept the writing competition with both of our seventh and eighth grade teams placing first out of twelve schools! Power of the Pen always recognizes the top twelve ranking students in each grade level, and we had many students place.

7th Grade:
10th Place: Andrew Fink
8th Place: Leah Thuente
3rd Place: Tabitha Irwin

8th Grade:
10th Place: Rocco Pica
6th Place: Rose Wentz
3rd Place: Mia Crinion

In addition to these fabulous results, two of our students were Best of Round winners. Seventh grader Tabitha Irwin won Best of Round for her piece titled "Member of the Pack." Eighth grader Rose Wentz won Best of Round for her piece titled "Memory." These two pieces will be published in the yearly Power of the Pen Book of Winners. Our St. Charles Borromeo Power of the Pen teams showed how hard work, perseverance, and creativity can pay off, and we are so proud of their successes!
