20 Bags Left!

Though the holidays are passing, the winter still leaves many of our neighbors hungry with difficulty accessing food. We invite families to request a FOOD commodity BAG and a shopping list from the school office. Families are asked to adopt a bag and fill it with the specific list of items and return it to the school office by Friday, January 15. These bags will be used as emergency assistance bags to be distributed from the food pantry at Catholic Social Services. The school has been asked to fill fifty bags and we greatly appreciate your help.

Please click on the link to request a food commodity bag and shopping list.

Volunteers needed to Judge Science Fair!

Science Fair will be a virtual event this year, but I am still in need of judges. A science or engineering background is nice, but not a requirement. In accordance with the State Science Fair guidelines, students will be preparing a narrated Google Slide presentation for their project. I will make these files accessible to judges through a Google Drive. If all goes to plan, judging will be open the third and fourth weeks of January. I'm estimating each presentation to be around five minutes, and judges would likely be responsible for scoring eight presentations. I will provide a score sheet and a list of standardized questions. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please email me at cbigelow@stcharleskettering.org

Parents please follow these guidelines daily.

When you call in your students absence please be prepared to give symptoms, as we are required to ask.

If you have Covid related questions or concerns please contact the school office or the school nurse between the hours of 8am-3pm.

  • Contact the school nurse at sullmer@stcharleskettering.org immediately if your child has tested positive for COVID-19 or has had an exposure with someone diagnosed with COVID-19. Please do not send your child to school during this time.  Please note that The Ohio Department of Health encourages parents to notify the school within 24 hours of a student diagnosed with COVID-19 (positive test).
  • If your child is asked to isolate or quarantine, please adhere to those guidelines for all activities to include any extra curricular activities.
  • Read and follow the Daily Health Check before sending your child to school. If you are not sure if you should send them, please keep them home and contact the school nurse at 937-433-3746.
  • Adhere to the Ohio Travel Advisory  Ohio’s travel advisory continues to recommend that people self-quarantine for 14 days if entering Ohio after travel to any state reporting a positive COVID-19 testing rate of 15% or higher. The advisory is intended for both leisure and business travel and should be heeded by both Ohioans and out-of-state travelers. Positivity rate information for Ohio’s travel advisory is updated once a week on Wednesdays.

We also want to continue families to adhere to COVID-19 prevention strategies:
  • Minimize contact with the people outside your immediate family.
  • Clean your hands often, either with soap and water for 20 seconds or a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Put distance between yourself and other people (at least 6 feet).
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces daily.
  • Wear masks in public settings and when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
