CHARGER CHATTER
November 23, 2020
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our generous and supportive families and students. We are most grateful for our community!
We encourage our families to follow the recent local, state and national guidelines this holiday week. Please limit travel and unnecessary contact with people not in your immediate household. Health officials are asking us to do "One More Thing" this week to ensure a healthy community. Please consider additional mask wearing, extra cleaning and limiting travel outside of the home.
Thank you for your help.

Upcoming St. Charles Parish Events!
ADVENT WREATH WORKSHOP
November 29th 9-11am in school cafeteria.

The Advent wreath is one of the most recognized symbols and traditions of the Advent season. Come build your own using live greens and the purple and pink candles that mark the season! You’ll be able to make and bless your wreath, and be given an Advent prayer booklet. This is a perfect event for families, singles, or a group of friends! We’ll be adjusting some of our setup/procedures to accommodate for necessary safety precautions.
Only $25 per wreath! Register on our website: stcharles-kettering.org.
GIVING TREE

Each year, we celebrate Christmas by sharing gifts with the community around us.
Beginning on November 29, ornaments will be available on the Giving Tree located in the Gathering Space. You and your family are invited
to take an ornament and shop for the person or items listed.
Please plan to return the wrapped items, with tags attached,
to the tree no later thanDecember 13.
We pray this tree will bless many lives this year!
Nativity Lights

In light of current safety restrictions, we’re excited to introduce a new event this Advent – “Nativity Lights: a drive-thru experience of the road to Bethlehem”!
From 6-8pm on Dec 20th load up in your cars with a hot drink and experience the wonder of this season while staying safe and warm! Drive through the light displays on our campus as you make your way through the town of Bethlehem to the long-awaited Nativity.
Saint Nick will be there too!
The success of this event will take a community effort! If your family/group would like to take ownership of a small section of the route (whether it’s creating a scene with lights and cutouts, or setting up one of our Bethlehem town booths) we would love your help! Likewise, if you’re skilled/experienced with lights, set-design, or simply willing to help with manual labor and set up, please contact Deme Crinion at 434-9272 or dcrinion@stcharles-kettering.org

Retired Staff Spotlight of the Week!
Dear St. Charles Students and Parents,
After prayerful consideration, I decided to retire form my library position at St. Charles. I enjoyed working with the staff, students and parents for fourteen years. I miss the eager students learning to read and the older students looking for book recommendations for the next great reading adventure. I miss worshipping at Mass together and spending time with my Faith Family. The school faculty and staff were a source of support and friendship.
Retirement plans to travel and visit family have been put on hold. I have been busy reading. I am still reading some children’s authors. I am in a Zoom book club too. I am enjoying time with my husband Tim who is also retired. We are working on garden and house projects and Zoom meetings with family and friends. I am a volunteer teacher for the online CCD program at St. Charles Parish for grades 1 - 5.
Please know you are in my prayers for a safe and successful school year.
Happy Reading!
Mrs. Margaret Brown
