Fish ‘n Chips 2019 planning is underway!  There will be a number of opportunities for parents to help in the upcoming months.
Here are a few to consider.

1.      Green envelopes went home before Christmas.  Please return these with your monetary donation (cash or check), or contribute online using the link on the parish website as soon as possible. These donations take the place of classroom baskets, and allow the silent auction committee to offer some fun items.

2.      Do you have any extra baskets that you would like to get rid of?  Baskets of all sizes are needed for silent auction items. Please drop baskets off in the school office.

3.      Are you a people person who wants to help with donations from the community? If you’d like to get involved with the silent auction, please contact Susie Litke -  susielitke@gmail.com.

"Save the Date for a Family Fun Game Night Thursday, January 31st from 5:30 - 8:00 in the St. Charles Cafeteria. Games for all ages (preschoolers and up) will be provided by the company GameWright to play. Come find a new favorite! Watch the upcoming Charger Chatters for more information. Contact Kim Bigelow ( kim.e.bigelow@gmail.com ) if you are willing to volunteer or have questions about the event." Flyers went home this week!

Fish n' Chips Planning Meeting
Join us on January 27th at 12pm in the cafeteria to continue planning for this year's Fish n' Chips event (Save the Date - Friday, March 15th). This is our biggest fundraiser that benefits the PTO projects fund and Athletics - and it's a lot of fun. Join us if you're at all interested in helping with committees to make this event a success!
Congratulations to all of our finalist for this years Geography Bee! This years winner was Brett Albrecht and runner up Dylan Issler!
FINAL GARDEN TOTALS!
Our 2018 production was:
296.95 lbs donated to the food pantry
266.39 lbs consumed/used by classes or taken home by families on market days
74.51 lbs gone to volunteers
Total - 637.85 pounds

Values are:
$493.85 to the food pantry
$368.31 to school/families
$98.61 to volunteers
Total - $960.78

The students and I tried to be as accurate as possible over the year, but I know that some things were picked and never recorded. I also ended the year with 24 pounds of green tomatoes that just ended up being composted. My guess would be that production was over 700 pounds and value was close to $1000.

I would like to thank all of you who helped with this. We will be starting bed adoptions and planting in the spring (end of March, April, and May), so keep that in mind for second semester lesson planning.

This person will ultimately move up to 1 st  Vice President for the 2019-2020 school year and then to PTO President in 2020-2021. If interested, please email Amy Schrimpf at  ajschrimpf@sbcglobal.net  or text her at 937-545-6915.
If you’re not utilizing the Kroger Rewards Program, please consider doing so. It’s an easy way to provide funding to PTO for purchases you’re already making. To enroll, simply go to  https://www.kroger.com/account/enrollCommunityRewardsNow/  . The code for St Charles PTO is AE937.
Thanks to those parents who are following the rules for drop-off and pick-up. Many PTO reps have received complaints about parents parking in handicapped spaces and dropping off students in non-designated areas. These concerns have been discussed at the November and December PTO meetings. We appreciate parents’ cooperation in following the rules that were put in place to keep all kids safe. THANK YOU!
