Want a fun way to help our students with technology?
The Knights of Columbus has two ways you can help!

Each classroom is collecting money to name a horse for the horse race at the Rib Fest. For each $20 collected the classroom gets to name a horse to compete. The more horses they name the more chances they have to win!!!! The winning horse will earn the classroom a pizza party!!! The classroom that collects the most money also earns a pizza party!!!

You can also attend the Rib Rest Oct. 6th.  The Ribs are amazing. There is plenty of games, food, and fun. All proceeds go to St. Charles Technology. Hope to see you all there enjoying ribs while upgrading our technology!!!
See more details below!
Support the Knights who Support Our Students

The annual Knights of Columbus Ribfest is Saturday, October 6. The Knights raise over $10,000 annually from the Ribfest to support technology efforts in the school. St. Charles utilizes the $68,000 total contribution over the past six years to purchase chromebooks for our junior high students. The one-to-one chromebook initiative has been very successful at St. Charles and contributes to our student success at high school.

Please support the Knights and our technology efforts at St. Charles by attending the annual Ribfest. Ticket and sponsor information was sent home and is also attached to this newsletter. If you are unable to attend you can still enter the reverse raffle or make a contribution.

The Knights are also looking for volunteers to help out during the event. Please review the sign up website for volunteer opportunities. You don't have to be a Knight to volunteer.

Thank you for your support of St. Charles School!
Fish n' Chips Planning Meeting! All Welcome!
We're less than six months away from the biggest party of the year. Last year's event was a huge success and we'd love to have inputs and help from all of you. Our first planning meeting for the 2019 Fish n' Chips Event will be Sunday, October 14th, at 12:00pm in the school cafeteria. For those of you new to the school; this is a fish fry and monte carlo night with auctions, games, live music, gambling, and much more. For those interested in helping, please attend the meeting. All proceeds go to the PTO project fund and the Athletics Commission operating budget.
Dear St. Charles Families,

Our school is hosting a Follett Book Fair!
Supporting a love for reading is critical to student success. Supporting your school is just as important. The Follett Book Fair encourages your child's reading habits, builds their personal libraries and raises funds for the school, all at the same time.
What makes Follett Book Fairs different?
Follett has been supporting schools for more than 140 years which means you can expect an a wesome selection of titles, from a wide range of publishers. These are the books your kids want to read. See the book fair flyer for some examples.  Visit www.follettgift.com to purchase a Follett gift card for your student.
Book fair dates:  October 8, 2018 – October 12, 2018
Times:  School hours plus Wednesday 10/10/18 open for Family Night from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and the  After School Special on Thursday, 10/11/18 from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
If you want to volunteer at the Follett Book Fair, a few spots are still open.
Thank you for supporting St. Charles School Library and the avid readers in your family by visiting the book fair. We hope to see you there!

Entertainment Books

The school students will be bringing home an Entertainment Book for families to sell or purchase. A member of each family is provided with one book and is usually sent home with the youngest child. Please review the book and if you decide to purchase the book or sell it to a friend return the money back to the school as soon as possible. If you choose not to sell or purchase the book please simply have your child return it to their teacher.

I encourage every family to participate in this fundraising effort. The Knights of Columbus donate a portion of the proceeds back to the school and use the income to offer four $500 scholarships to a graduating eighth grader who will attend a Catholic High School.

Thank you for supporting this valuable fundraiser.
