ST.CHARLES SCHOOL COMMISSION
WHAT IS THE SCHOOL COMMISSION?
The overall purpose of the school commission is to advise and support the Pastor and Principal in the formation of policy and the ongoing development of St. Charles School.
The commission will fulfill these functions in collaboration with the Pastor and Principal. It is not the commission’s function to become involved in the administration, daily operations, or programming of the school.
The School Commission shall be responsible for formulating policies that relate to such matters as admissions, tuition rates, salary scales, educational and religious philosophy, grievance procedure, discipline, and other non-administrative matters relating to the school. In the development of its policies, it must insure that these follow the intent and spirit of the policies expressed by the Archdiocesan Commission of Education.
MEETINGS
The Commission meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. All meetings of the commission are open to members of the parish and the parents of children attending St. Charles School. Executive meetings are closed to the public.
A non-commission member who wishes to address the school commission at a regularly scheduled monthly meeting must notify the Commission President no later than one week prior to the meeting and include the subject matter that they wish to have placed on the agenda. INTERESTED IN A SCHOOL COMMISSION POSITION?
Being a member of the St.Charles School Commission is an opportunity to learn more about the inner workings of the school, an opportunity to get to work closely with the school Principal and parish Pastor, and an opportunity to meet other parents.
Each year, four commission positions are vacated and need to be filled.
