St. Charles Kindergarten

St. Charles Borromeo kindergarten provides a solid stepping stone for your child’s education.  St. Charles features a welcoming environment in which students are able to grow not only academically, but spiritually and personally as well.  Each child is viewed as an individual with a unique learning style. We look forward to meeting the needs of your child.

St. Charles has a rich foundation built on faith.  We recognize Christ in each child. Your child’s time at St. Charles will be spent developing what it means to be an active disciple of Christ.  Faith provides a strong structure for students to flourish in all other academic and personal areas. Kindergarten participates in Mass, Faith Families, and service projects.

Developmentally appropriate academics are an integral part of our program.  We strive to make learning integrated, purpose-based and tactile. Your child will be introduced to lowercase and capital letters and sounds, reading strategies, and trick words.  Math classes are enhanced by the use of manipulatives to aid in focusing on numbers, patterns, composing and decomposing numbers. Our science curriculum focus is on how to be a scientist and develops methods to investigate concepts.  All academic areas of kindergarten are outlined by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s content standards. Kindergarten students actively participate in weekly music, art, physical education, body management, library, and computer classes. Spanish is offered to each kindergarten for 10 weeks.  Our students also have monthly classes with our guidance counselor to help further develop social skills.

St. Charles believes in interactive learning. Students are encouraged to explore learning to its fullest potential.  We foster faith, honor, balance, and knowledge in order to grow as individuals.
