Reconciliation

The peace of both mind and soul which comes to us from Reconciliation is a certainty that our sins have been forgiven. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us all from unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9) Reconciliation resources at USCCB

Reconciliation Services

This is a communal service offered in the church to our St. Charles parishioners as well as members of other local parishes.  The prayer service begins with a time of examen and reflection on the ways we have sinned against God, and on the love and mercy He offers us. This is followed by an opportunity for individual Reconciliation with one of several priests. Families are welcome and encouraged to participate in these services, typically offered during the seasons of Advent and Lent.

First Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a liturgical celebration of God’s forgiveness, through which we, as sinners, are reconciled with both God and the Church community. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is normally received for the first time prior to First Eucharist. The 2nd graders of our parish prepare for First Reconciliation during the first half of the school year, either in their class at St. Charles school, their CCD class or through an approved home school program.
